SC questions govt over drug pricing, asks 'Why can't margin cap apply to all medicines?'

Supreme Court, while hearing a plea concerning sale of essential medicines at inflated prices, questioned government on why medicine price caps couldn't be extended to all drugs instead of only anti-cancer medicines. The court remarked after government informed it that it had approved a cap on margins charged on sale of anti-cancer medicines, limiting them to 30% of MRP.
