SC refuses to stay 3-language policy for Class 9, seeks CBSE's response

Supreme Court refused to stay CBSE's decision to implement the three-language policy, requiring students to study at least two Indian languages, mid-session in July 2026 for Class 9 students. CJI Surya Kant issued a notice to CBSE to respond to pleas challenging the implementation. CBSE had earlier said the policy would apply to Class 9 students from 2029-30 academic session.
