SC refuses to suspend sentence of Tarun Tejpal convicted for raping colleague in Goa hotel lift

The Supreme Court has declined to suspend the 10-year prison sentence to Tehelka Co-founder Tarun Tejpal in a 2013 rape case. Bombay High Court had on August 6 convicted Tejpal, reversing a trial court's acquittal order. Tejpal was found guilty of raping a junior colleague in a hotel elevator during a magazine event in Goa in 2013.
