SC rejects plea for free hand to Delhi Police against protesters, says 'They're young students'

Ahead of CJP's protest, Supreme Court rejected a plea seeking directions to give Delhi Police a free hand in dealing with protesters. "These are young students...We've to see their parents, we have to see they've a long life. They shouldn't be entangled with court hearings," said CJI Surya Kant. The bench clarified its earlier protection didn't extend to hardened criminals.
