SC revokes appointment of 1.78L full-time teachers in UP

The Supreme Court on Tuesday revoked the appointment of 1.78 lakh junior school teachers, known as Shiksha Mitra, as full-time teachers for not having the pre-requisite qualifications laid down by the Centre. The UP government had regularised the jobs of the Shiksha Mitras as full-time teachers in the state to counter the shortage of teachers in the primary schools.
