SC seeks social security for blind man living in poverty

The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the plight of a visually impaired man and his elderly mother living in extreme poverty in Odisha. The court directed the state to provide all basic amenities, review pending welfare benefits, and ensure social security measures to help them live with dignity and support.
