SC sets aside ₹200-cr fine on Amazon in case involving Big Bazaar, orders refund in 8 weeks

The Supreme Court set aside a ₹202-crore penalty imposed by competition regulator CCI on Amazon for failing to reveal crucial details of its acquisition of a 49% stake in Big Bazaar-parent Future Retail's coupon business. CCI claimed that Amazon secretly intended to acquire a strategic foothold in Future Retail. The court ordered CCI to refund the fine within eight weeks.
