SC slams govt over expired Covid-era antifungal drug approvals
The Supreme Court rebuked the Union government and DCGI for inaction against pharma companies allegedly selling Liposomal Amphotericin B under expired Covid-era emergency licences. The bench asked if officers were "sleeping or had greased hands" for five years, noting regulators issued notices only in February 2026 after court intervention. Orders will apply to all companies with emergency licences.
