SC stays Madras HC order to return art trafficker Kapoor to Germany

The Supreme Court stayed the Madras High Court's September 8 order directing the Centre to return alleged international art trafficker Subash Chandra Kapoor to Germany. A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and R Mahadevan put the HC judgment on hold. The HC had earlier ruled Kapoor's continued detention in India violated the India-Germany Extradition Treaty's rule of speciality.
