SC stays Mumbai college's hijab ban, says 'Will you ban tilak?'

Supreme Court partly stayed a ban imposed on students wearing a burqa, hijab or niqab on campus by a college in Mumbai. "Will you ban girls wearing bindi or tilak?" the bench said. Justice Sanjay Kumar also criticised the college's reasoning that the ban was not to reveal student's religion, saying, "Will you ask them to be identified by numbers?"
