School gets notice for 'electric chair' threats to students in UP

UP government issued a show cause notice to a private school in Aligarh district for allegedly intimidating students with threats of 'electric chair' as a punishment. Basic Education Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said he didn't find any electric chair in the school. However, he added that staff did threaten children about using electric chairs as punishment for errant students.
