Scientists build data centre prototype using 16 million human cells

Scientists in Singapore have developed a Biological Data Centre prototype that uses living neurons derived from stem cells to process information and support AI systems. The prototype contains 20 biological computing units, each with around 800,000 neurons, or roughly 16 million per rack. The cells can operate using only a fraction of the power required by conventional digital computers.
