Scientists capture 1st-ever footage of Barreleye Fish in Atlantic
Scientists have captured the first-ever footage of Winteria telescopa, a rare barreleye fish never before seen alive in its natural habitat, in the Atlantic Ocean. The discovery, made at the depth of 710 metres during a month-long expedition, could offer fresh insights into deep-sea ecosystems. The fish has a transparent, fluid-filled head enclosing two tubular eyes capable of looking upward.
