Scientists create tech that turns seawater into fresh water without electricity

Chinese scientists have developed a solar-powered desalination technology that can turn seawater into fresh water without electricity, the South China Morning Post reported. Based on a projected two years of operation, the team said the cost of producing water would fall below that of bottled water. Experiments showed the outdoor prototype achieved a solar absorption rate of up to 90.2%.
