Scientists discover new dinosaur species in Sahara Desert

Scientists led by University of Chicago discovered a new dinosaur species, Spinosaurus mirabilis, in Niger's Sahara Desert. The name means “wonderful spine lizard.” It resembles modern crocodiles and researchers believe it lived a semi-aquatic life and likely hunted fish in shallow waters. They said its skull bears a striking crest, which may have been covered in keratin and was colourful.
