Scientists discover possible ice buried on Moon's South Pole
Scientists analysing data from ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 have identified evidence suggesting presence of subsurface water-ice beneath craters near Moon's South Pole. A study focused on a rare category of "doubly shadowed craters" located inside permanently shadowed regions. These never receive sunlight and remain shielded from thermal radiation, causing temperatures to plunge to nearly minus −248°C.
