Scientists film 125-mn-yr-old goblin shark alive for the 1st time ever
Scientists have captured the 125-million-year-old goblin shark alive in its natural deep-sea habitat for the first time, extending the species' known depth range from 1,200 metres to 2,000 metres. One shark was filmed near Jarvis Island in the Central Pacific, while another was recorded near the Tonga Trench. Goblin sharks are the only surviving members of their ancient shark family.
