A team of scientists studying Antarctica has created a digital archive documenting 207 volcanoes beneath its ice sheets. Published in 'Earth-Science Reviews', the study challenges the idea that Antarctica is silent and motionless. Scientists said the hidden volcanoes lie under thick ice, invisible to satellites and explorers, adding that magma beneath the ice can weaken its stability over time.
