Scientists predict the explosive birth of a star in 2022

US-based scientists have predicted a new star will be created in 2022 following the merger and explosion of a binary star (two stars orbiting each other). As per the prediction, the new star will be visible through naked eyes and will be one of the brightest in the sky for about six months before gradually returning to its normal brightness.
