Scientists 'recreate' DNA damage caused by toxins from smoking for study

University of York researchers claim to have recreated how toxins from smoking cause unique patterns of DNA damage. They believe the discovery could help scientists better understand the cause of bladder cancer and its link to smoking. The researchers grew human bladder tissues in the laboratory and exposed them to a common toxin from cigarette smoke for the study.
