Scientists report red blood cells in 115mn-year-old dinosaur bone
Scientists led by Australia's Curtin University said they found mineralised red blood cells carrying traces of heme, part of haemoglobin, in leg bones of a 115-million-year-old dinosaur from Brazil. The study was published in the journal PNAS. Palaeontologist Mary Schweitzer told Australia's ABC she accepts the heme finding but is not convinced the structures are blood cells.
