Scientists to test if whisky ages faster in space over 5 years
Scientists from Scotland and Japan plan to send whisky samples into orbit in 2028 for a five-year experiment. The “Space Puffin” mission will study how microgravity and extreme temperature cycles affect whisky’s interaction with wood and chemical maturation. Researchers hope the findings could also advance space-based manufacturing and pharmaceutical research.
