Sculptor of collapsed Shivaji Maharaj statue sent to police custody till Sept 10

A Maharashtra court on Thursday remanded sculptor-contractor Jaydeep Apte in police custody till September 10 in connection with the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue at Rajkot Fort. Apte, who is responsible for creating the statue, was arrested in Thane on Wednesday. Notably, the 35-foot statue collapsed on August 26, nearly nine months after PM Narendra Modi unveiled it.
