Sculptor Ram Sutar, designer of Statue of Unity, passes away at 100

Renowned sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, known for designing the world's tallest statue 'Statue of Unity' in Gujarat, has passed away at the age of 100. Sutar was awarded the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016. His other celebrated works include the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in a seated meditative pose at the Parliament complex.
