SEBI eases rules for REITs, InvITs to attract foreign investors

SEBI has updated rules allowing REITs and listed InvITs to invest minority stakes in third-party under-construction projects within exposure limits. Existing unitholders can now transfer units abroad via depository receipts, exclusively for foreign investors. Indian residents and NRIs are ineligible. SEBI also revised definitions and timelines to boost global appeal of India's real estate and infrastructure sectors.
