SEBI imposes ₹1.55-crore fine on 23 entities for rule violations

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed monetary penalties totalling ₹1.55 crore on 23 entities for violating regulatory norms. The fine, ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh, was imposed in connection with trading by certain entities in mentha oil futures contracts at Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The 23 firms allegedly "deliberately accumulated/cornered stock of mentha oil".
