SEBI makes separation of Chairperson and MD, CEO's role voluntary

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Tuesday said provision for separation of roles of a listed company's Chairperson and Managing Director or Chief Executive Officer is applicable on a "voluntary basis". The regulator had earlier mandated the separation of the role of Chairperson and MD/CEO of listed companies to be applicable from April 1, 2022.
