SEBI to issue norms to accredit ESG assessment providers: Report

SEBI may soon release guidelines for accrediting environmental, social and governance assessment providers, a report stated. The move is aimed at strengthening the implementation of ESG disclosure norms due to recent violations by new-age firms. The guidelines will align with the recent framework, giving listed firms the option of either "assessment" or "assurance" of their sustainability reports.
