SEBI to streamline digital onboarding for foreign investors

SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said the regulator is simplifying digital onboarding for persons resident outside India. Around 205 FPIs are using the SWAGAT-FI framework since June 2026. SEBI also plans to widen FPI participation in commodity derivatives and introduce depository receipts against REIT and InvIT units.
