Second person to receive modified pig heart dies weeks after surgery in US

A 58-year-old American man who became the second person to undergo an experimental pig heart transplant has died weeks after the surgery. Lawrence Faucette was suffering from heart failure and received the 'pig heart' on September 20, as he was not eligible for a conventional heart transplant. David Bennett, the first 'pig heart' recipient, had died two months after surgery.
