Section 144 of BNSS for maintenance to wife & child

If husband refuses or fails to provide financial assistance to wife and child, the wife has the right to file a case under section 144 of BNSS. The application for allowance will be disposed in 60 days. The court has the right to issue warrants against husband and even order imprisonment which may extend upto 5 years.
