Senegal's Edouard Mendy ruled out of FIFA WC match against Iraq

Senegal have confirmed that first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will miss their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group I match against Iraq. This comes after Mendy suffered a knee injury during second half of Senegal's 2-3 defeat to Norway. Senegal Football Federation said medical examinations are underway to determine the severity of the injury and whether Mendy can return later in tournament.
