Senior excise official loses ₹1 lakh to cyber fraud in Mumbai

A senior excise official in Mumbai was cheated of around ₹1 lakh by cyber fraudster on the pretext of getting double the amount transferred into the fraudster's bank account. According to reports, the accused had called the victim to talk about renting her flat, however, he convinced her to transfer the money by making false promises of doubling the amount.
