Senior UN official visits Myanmar to meet military leadership

A senior United Nations official, Noeleen Heyzer, arrived in the capital of Myanmar, Naypyidaw, on Tuesday to meet the country's military chief Min Aung Hlaing. "She will focus on addressing the deteriorating situation and immediate concerns," UN said in a statement. A junta spokesperson said that Heyzer has not requested to meet former Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
