Sensex, Nifty close in green after US envoy's trade deal remarks

Market indices Sensex and Nifty closed in green on Monday, ending a five-day slump. Sensex jumped over 300 points to reach 83,878, while Nifty50 surged nearly 107 points to close at 25,790. The indexes witnessed a sharp midday comeback after the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, said that the US-India trade deal would be discussed on January 13, 2026.
