Sensex, Nifty end lower as IT, auto stocks drag markets

Indian stock markets ended lower on Friday as investors remained cautious during the holiday-shortened week, avoiding fresh positions amid weak triggers. Selling pressure in IT and automobile stocks, coupled with the expiry of Sensex derivatives, weighed on sentiment. The Sensex fell 367.25 points to 85,041.45, while the Nifty dropped 99.80 points to 26,042.30.
