Sensex, Nifty hit lifetime highs after US Fed cuts interest rates

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty hit fresh lifetime highs in early trade on Thursday. This comes after the US Federal Reserve announced its first interest rate cut since the early days of the 2020 pandemic. Sensex jumped by 800 points to hit an intraday high of 83,773.61, while Nifty 50 rose over 200 points to touch 25,611.95.
