Sensex, Nifty record best month in over 2 years in April

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty logged their best month in over two years in April, partly recovering from March's sell-off. Sensex rose 6.9% during the month, while Nifty surged 7.5%, their best monthly performance since December 2023, Reuters reported. However, both indices closed in the red on Thursday amid rising crude oil prices and a hawkish US Fed stance.
