Sensex closes 889 points higher, Nifty jumps to 24,250 amid IT index rally

BSE Sensex closed 889 points or 1.16% higher at 77,655 on Wednesday, with 25 out of 30 listed companies ending in the green. Similarly, Nifty 50 jumped by 265 points or 1.10% to close at 24,250, driven by a sharp 2.32% jump in the IT index. Top gainers Hindustan Unilever and Infosys gained 4.7% and 4.5% on BSE, respectively.
