Sensex closes over 700 points lower, Nifty settles near 23,100

The Indian benchmark indices ended in red on Monday amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The Sensex fell over 700 points to 73,524.26, while the Nifty declined nearly 243 points to 23,123.00. Both Sensex and Nifty plunged around 1%, from their previous close of 74,243.34 and 23,366.70 respectively. Notably, Indian rupee depreciated, reaching 95.69 against the US dollar.
