Sensex crashes 2,702 points to end at 54,530 amid Russia's attack on Ukraine
The Indian benchmark indices crashed nearly 5% on Thursday amid Russia's military operation in eastern Ukraine with the Sensex plunging 2,702 points. The Sensex ended at 54,530, while the broader Nifty 50 also fell 823 points to close at 16,240. The indices recorded their second worst day since March 2020, the month when India imposed COVID-19 restrictions, as per Bloomberg.
