Sensex ends over 1,200 points higher, Nifty closes above 24,200

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 closed sharply higher on Wednesday. The Sensex rose 1,263 points to end at 78,111.24, while the Nifty 50 gained 388 points to settle at 24,231.30. Most Sensex stocks ended in the green, led by IndiGo, Eternal and Power Grid Corporation of India. Investors added ₹9 lakh crore in wealth during the session.
