Indian stock market continued to slip further into the red, with the Sensex and Nifty extending losses for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday. BSE Sensex fell over 900 points to touch an intraday low of 71,527.98 while Nifty 50 breached the 22,500-mark. The sharp selloff erased over ₹8 lakh crore from the combined market capitalisation of all BSE-listed companies.
