Sensex jumps 800 points, IT stocks lead gains despite US green card curbs

Benchmark index Sensex jumped around 800 points at market open on Friday, with IT stocks leading the gains despite the US green card crackdown. TCS led the rally, rising over 5%, followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCLTech. TCS shares surged after the IT major reported a 15% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹13,884 crore in Q2 FY27.
