Sensex jumps nearly 900 points as Iran peace hopes lift markets

Indian benchmark indices opened sharply higher on Friday as hopes of easing tensions in the Middle East boosted investor sentiment. The Sensex gained nearly 868 points to 74,700.40, while the Nifty rose about 240 points to 23,401.15. Markets were lifted after US President Donald Trump said a peace deal with Iran could be reached as early as this weekend.
