Sensex jumps over 1,000 points to end above 84,000 for 1st time

Benchmark index Sensex jumped 1,359.5 points on Friday to close above 84,000 for the first time. Nifty also climbed 375.1 points to end at 25,790. Mahindra and Mahindra, JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers on the Sensex. SBI, IndusInd Bank, TCS and Bajaj Finance were among the top losers.
