Sensex, Nifty end in red for 5th straight session, fall nearly 1%

Sensex and Nifty dipped nearly 1% on Friday to end in red for the fifth straight session. Sensex lost 662 points to close at 79,402.2, while Nifty lost 218 points to close at 24,180.8. IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro and NTPC were the top losers on Sensex. ITC, Axis Bank and Hindustan Unilever were the top gainers.
