Sensex opens 1,000 points higher, Nifty reclaims 8,000 after worst single-day fall

A day after suffering their worst single-day loss, domestic stock markets started Tuesday's session sharply higher. While Sensex surged over 1,000 points from its previous close to open at 27,056, Nifty50 opened at 7,848 and surged above the 8,000-mark in early trade. Among the Sensex 30 stocks, Infosys led the rally, rising nearly 6%, followed by the Hindustan Unilever.
