Separatist leader Shakeel Bakshi arrested for 1996 Srinagar clash

Separatist leader Shakeel Ahmad Bakshi was arrested on Monday after he surrendered before National Investigation Agency court in Srinagar. He was arrested in connection with FIR regarding a procession at Naaz Crossing in July 1996 where a mob carried terrorist Hilal Ahmad Beigh's body. The procession turned violent with stone-pelting, anti-national slogans, and gunfire directed at security forces.
