Twenty-three-time Grand Slam singles champion Serena Williams has announced she is returning to professional tennis at 44, nearly four years after her last match at US Open 2022. Serena, who had described her exit as "evolving away" from tennis rather than retirement, is set to play women's doubles at Queen's with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko after receiving a wildcard.
